What you need to know about Dairy

Industrial dairy, modern dairy and cows raised in factory farms is bad for human health, animals, and the climate. Historically human never consumed milk until recently, and what we eat and drink now is different than what it was 100 years ago. It had a different form of casein which was not inflammatory, it was not fed antibiotics hormones or corn. This provides us to be fed a lot of hormones and antibiotics thus causing inflammatory response.

Eliminating dairy is recommended for people who:

  • Have asthma, seasonal allergies chronic sinus or respiratory infections. This is because some individuals are susceptible to an increase in mucus production due to proteins in certain types of cows milk.

  • Have a significant hormone balance (because dairy foods are reproductive substances which contain substantial level of hormones)

  • Have chronically loose stools (because approximately 2/3 of the worlds population is lactose intolerant which can cause nutrient malabsorption due to hypermotility in the intestines)

  • Have Inflammatory bowel disease which can trigger of flares in some patients – not all or IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). These people with IBS are likely to have flares in symptoms due to hyper fermentation of malabsorbed lactose.

What types of dairy to look for: grass-fed, organic, unhomogenized dairy but A2 dairy casein is not inflammatory for humans, look out for that!

When looking at ingredients in your grocery list, it is best to avoid words like milk, butter, whey, casein or lacto. Most foods use preservatives or additives for texture that include dairy. This means you will need to avoid most baked goods unless they are specifically labelled dairy free.

Also did you know that eliminating parasites can eliminate sensitivities to dairy!! Parasites lower enzymes necessary to break down the components of dairy!
